Michele Shaws Elite Dance Centre Staff
Racquel, daughter of Michele Shaw, has been teaching at the Elite Dance Centre since day 1. Racquel has been dancing since she could walk, performing in her first recital when she was just a year old. Racquel has competed in many dance and modeling competitions. She has won high scoring solo's and duo's for her performances, and many special awards. At the age of six she performed in her first Nutcracker as a mouse.
Racquel has always had a love for the theatre. She has been in several plays at the Gloucester Stage Company including The Little Match Girl, Babes in Toyland, and The Wind and the Willows. She also studied with Heidi Dallan in Gloucester Stage's summer theatre program. Racquel was an active participant in the Gloucester Public Schools theatrical programs. As a 5th grader at the Fuller school she played in Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Guys and Dolls, and a Chorus Line. In middle school, she starred in Bye Bye Birdie, Grease, Into the Woods, and Middle School Moments - which performed at the middle and high school drama fest in Wakefield and at Art space.
She was a Gloucester High School cheerleader on the JR. Varsity squad where they were Northeastern Jr. Varsity Champs.
The Elite Dance Centre is proud to have Racquel on board. Racquel is a talented dancer and a compassionate teacher. The younger students look up to her and excel under her care.
Racquel lives in Gloucester with her Husband Joel and their 2 beautiful children Braelyn and Corbin.
Amanda Black
Amanda, born and raised in Gloucester, has been teaching dance across New England for the past 30 years. She began her training under Michele at the age of eight and has competed throughout New England winning numerous high score and special awards. Amanda went on to join the UMASS Amherst Dance Team in college where she earned a Bachelor of Science. She then went on to obtain a Master of Education degree from Salem State College and in addition to teaching dance, is a middle school math teacher. Amanda lives in Gloucester with her husband Will and 3 children Isla, Fiona and Declan.
The Elite Dance Centre is happy to have her on staff.
Melissa was born and raised in Gloucester, and has been teaching dance for over 30 years.
She began her training at the age of 2 studing tap, jazz and ballet.
Melissa has competed across New England winning many awards and multiple scholarships
from dance masters of America.
Melissa got her paralegal degree from North Shore Community College and went to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Business from Lesley University.
Melissa Lives in Gloucester with her husband Jay and 2 children Cali and Cameron.
